Privacy Policy

Learn how ImgMonk provides a completely private file optimization experience directly in your browser.

Our Core Privacy Commitment

At ImgMonk (published by ImgMonk), your digital privacy is our absolute priority. We do not collect, view, store, upload, or transmit any files or images that you process on our website.

Traditional online converters require you to upload your personal photos to their servers, exposing your files to third-party logs, server administrators, and indexing systems. ImgMonk uses a 100% serverless, client-side model where all code runs locally in your browser.

Zero Uploads: When you drag and drop a photo into our workspace, it is read into your browser's local sandbox memory. It is never transmitted across the internet to our servers.

How Local Processing Works

To convert or compress images without server-side resources, ImgMonk utilizes advanced local browser technologies:

  • File Reader API: The browser reads the raw binary representation of your local file on-demand.
  • Canvas and WebGL APIs: Images are drawn onto local graphics buffers to perform operations like cropping, rotating, and resizing.
  • WebAssembly (Wasm): High-speed compiled binaries execute optimization and compression algorithms locally in your browser environment.
  • Local Download Triggering: Once processed, the website triggers a local save dialog, downloading the file directly from browser memory onto your hard drive.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Because all image processing is performed within your browser, we do not have access to, and therefore do not collect:

  • The contents of any image uploaded to the tool queue.
  • Any image metadata (such as EXIF, GPS location tags, camera type, or capture date).
  • Filenames, formats, or file sizes.

Cookies & Website Analytics

Our servers host static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). When you load the site, basic standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, request timestamp) are processed by our web host to deliver the static content. These logs do not contain any trace of your images.

We use minimal anonymous analytics cookies to track basic site traffic patterns (e.g., page views, session duration) to help us understand which tools are popular and how we can improve them. No personally identifiable information is tracked.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

Under regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, users have rights regarding data access, deletion, and portability.

Since ImgMonk does not collect or store your files, images, or metadata, we have no data to access, delete, or transfer. If you request that we delete your image history, it is already deleted the second you close your browser tab or clear your browser memory.

Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy is effective as of June 11, 2026. Any changes made to our policies will be posted on this page. However, our core commitment to keeping our image processing 100% serverless and private will remain unchanged.
